An aspect of backing tracks that has been problematic has been the inability to incorporate them into a band or performing entity that uses a live drummer. Longview Studio have been producing 'click' bassed tracks for many years and have recently introduced a simple system for catering to this demand.
Stadium and large concert acts have, for a very long time, incorporated 'playback' technology in their shows. Sometimes for sound effects, sometimes to trigger or control light shows but often to incorporate musical or vocal parts that would otherwise not be available from the onstage players. The systems for making this work are often complex and expensive. Longview have developed a very simple production technique that means even a lone drummer could work as a solo act!! Using nothing more complex than a CD, Mini Disc or MP3 player, they have perfected a backing track method that is easy to deploy, inexpensive to obtain and will lift the performance possibilities of any act that incorporates live drums.
